Next meets of The Social Glue of Sydney are Wednesday March 25, 7-10 pm and Saturday March 28, 12-3 pm at Alexandria Town Hall
Focused studio-based communal collage practice. Open to all.
Three hour collage-making meets in a large space in inner Sydney, every second Wednesday evening and Saturday day.
The Social Glue of Sydney is a dedicated collage-making group that emphasises practice around a communal table and the applied study of the collage form.
We understand that serious art-making is hampered by three huge impediments: time to make/space to make/money to make. In the design of The Social Glue, we attempt to address all three.
Collage practice is the glue that binds the attendees. We are not a social gathering where collage happens on the side. We’re not a “cham-paint” night out, where art-making is a bit of fun. We're not a pre-existing friendship group that meets around an incidental activity.
We hold 4 meets a month in the majestic upstairs ballroom space of the Alexandria Town Hall. Every second Wednesday night and Saturday day we hold dedicated, leaderless, studio sessions with no constraints.
The sessions run on Wednesday nights 7-10.30 pm and Saturday days 12-3.30. Both times are inclusive of a half an hour period to pack up and clean the space. Please register your attendance here.
